Tetris was first created on June 6 1984, while working at the Acedemy of Science of the USSRy in Moscow. Basicly, the guy was a commie. He derived its name from the Greek numerical prefix “tetra-” – as all of the games pieces contain four segments. There’s some history for you there. It was hugely successful for the original Game Boy (the really old one, that was only featured in grey) in 1989. As well as that, its the 2nd best Video Game of All time according to IGN, and has sold over 70m copies worldwide.
